The diamond began as a practical detail: in the 1930s Bentley cut a cross-hatch into its brass switches so they would not slip under a gloved hand. It became a signature, and has since been engraved, quilted, machined and lit across the cabin.
On the Torcal it is cut like a jewel into the grille. It also appears in a digital display, where it is made from real physical objects instead of being drawn on the screen.
